The city of Uster is facing the challenge of solving three important projects with urgent parking issues in the city center. The "Attractive City Center," the "Culture and Meeting Center on the Zeughaus Areal," and the "Station Center" require a coordinated and systematic parking strategy. SWISSTRAFFIC AG is conducting an extensive data analysis and developing a parking strategy tailored to the city of Uster, which aims to make more efficient use of existing parking facilities. New digital technologies are also being taken into account. We look forward to working together with the city of Uster on a future-oriented and sustainable parking solution.

Large-scale mobility analysis with license plate recognition during 1 week in Ostaargau. 43 locations - 90 license plate cameras - recorded over 1.5 million vehicles. Plausibility analyses, extrapolations, transit destination/source traffic for different time periods, 10 vehicle classes (SWISS10), Switzerland abroad, route selection and routes, report, graphic representations.
The collected traffic data confirm the previous forecasts des Kanton Aargau  in Ostaargau and form the basis for a number of larger transport projects in the region.

By 2030, the Stadt Zürich will implement a network of around 130 kilometers of preferred cycling routes. SWISSTRAFFIC is allowed to accompany the implementation over the next five years with complex traffic surveys. Through traffic is recorded with license plate recognition (swissANPR), node flows with video recording (swissSCOUT AI) and cross-sectional loads and speeds with side radar devices (swissRADAR). In this way, the conditions before and after the measures can be compared.

SWISSTRAFFIC AG uses artificial intelligence to assess possible conflict situations between busy cycling traffic and motorised traffic. During the test surveys, the traffic flows (MIV, public transport and bicycle) are collected by our swissSCOUT AI and the data is analysed in real time in encrypted form on site (full compliance with data protection). The technology used recognises the multimodal traffic flows as well as the speeds of the road users and can draw conclusions for possible conflicts. This method is suitable for the statistical evaluation of risk situations, as well as for monitoring the success of the implementation of measures (comparison before and after).

In collaboration with La Fabrique de Malley, SWISSTRAFFIC AG is collecting data on multimodal mobility flows within the new Malley district to be built.
Using our swissTRAFFIC AI solution with artificial intelligence, data is counted in real time from all road users at strategic locations. The evaluation of this data is used to analyse the impact of the current construction progress and to plan any corrective measures to make traffic more fluid and safer - especially for cyclists and pedestrians. The effects of the various construction sites throughout the neighbourhood on mobility flows will be recorded and analysed.

In the context of SBB CFF FFS's planned reconstruction of the railway station, the City of Nyon intends to upgrade the station area and the surrounding neighbourhood. SWISSTRAFFIC AG is working with MAGIZAN SA (architecture-urban planning), Hager Partner AG (landscape architects), Planair SA(sustainability engineering) and Bfluid recherche prospective & expertise (spatial development) in one of the teams selected for the test planning. The challenge is to integrate all modes of transport in a perimeter with numerous framework conditions. Nyon train station is the most important multimodal platform in the region and the coexistence of different public services (SBB and NStCM - TPN trains, city buses, PostBus Switzerland Ltd., PubliBike SA, taxi), non-motorised traffic and MIV shows a high complexity. SWISSTRAFFIC will take this into account to make the station efficient and attractive and to ensure good integration into the neighbourhood. 

SWISSTRAFFIC AG recently carried out its 100th Road Safety Audit (RSA). With our support, road infrastructure projects are optimized in terms of quality and safety. We attach great importance to a careful examination of the project dossiers and can refer to many satisfied customers. We are also at your disposal with our services for infrastructure security (ISSI).

The community of Wünnewil-Flamatt would like to make the connection of the Wünnewil railroad station more attractive for non-motorized traffic. SWISSTRAFFIC AG examined various options, compared them with each other and three of them were elaborated in more depth. The elaboration takes various factors into acccount, for example reachability, compliance with obstacle-free traffic space, and traffic safety. A multi-factoral analysis was used to determine the best variant.

Based on an effectiveness analysis of the new bus lanes and a Road Safety Inspection (RSI) with a focus on bicycle traffic, short-term optimization measures were developed. These were submitted to the city for review and possible implementation.

The city of Zurich intends to reduce through traffic on Hardturmstrasse. This will improve the quality of life in the neighborhood-surroundings, by reducing noise and other emissions associated with traffic. In order to determine the current source, destination and through traffic in Hardturmstrasse as well as in the surrounding road network, SWISSTRAFFIC AG carried out a license plate survey during 7 days at 8 measurement locations. Approximately 55,000 vehicles with differentiation of vehicle class were recorded per day - always in compliance with data protection regulations. In addition to the OD relationships, the time of travel were calculated.

In order to make the Dorfstrasse in the town of Kloten more attractive and to improve an existing weak point for bicycles, a multi-purpose lane that can be used on both sides is marked in the middle of the road.

The canton of Nidwalden has commissioned SWISSTRAFFIC to carry out the 5-year traffic census in 2021 throughout the canton. In addition to motorized traffic MIV, #bicycle traffic is also surveyed. The general project (GP) for the reopening of the A02 "Emmen-Nord" motorway connection has already been approved. The connection is to be expanded to a full connection (7/8). SWISSTRAFFIC AG supports the Federal Roads Office ASTRA as the client in carrying out the implementation project (AP). 

The traffic basics are provided and the traffic forecast is simulated using a traffic model. 

This makes it possible to analyze what influence the opening of the motorway connection will have on the traffic volumes on the canton's road network. 

In addition, the other specialists are supported in dimensioning the connection nodes.

Between 2021 and 2025, SWISSTRAFFIC AG will support the Federal Roads Office ASTRA Winterthur branch in optimizing #traffic safety and carry out road safety inspections (RSI) across the entire branch network (ZH, SH, SG, TG, GL, AI, AR). . In doing so, security deficits are identified, which can then be remedied in the short to medium term, depending on their complexity.

The city of Lausanne wants to improve the quality of life in the city center and promote soft mobility. The aim is to better understand the traffic distribution in the city center and the proportion of transit traffic within the city. To do this, SWISSTRAFFIC AG carried out a two-day license plate reading with 42 cameras on 21 road sections in order to determine outgoing, destination and transit traffic. 275,000 vehicles per day were identified and divided into different vehicle classes. The origin of the vehicles (municipality, canton) was also listed – in compliance with data protection regulations.

As a "side product", a traffic model was created with which the effect of various traffic moderation measures can be simulated.

Are cyclists now always allowed to turn right at red lights? 

Since January 1, 2021, bicycles in Switzerland have been allowed to turn right at red traffic lights. "Show yourself in the roundabout: bikes ride in the middle!"

Many bicycles ride on the right-hand side of the roundabout and are all too quickly overlooked by drivers. The Suva project "Show yourself in the roundabout: bikes ride in the middle!" sensitizes cyclists to the applicable guidelines for driving on a roundabout. mittendrin SWISSTRAFFIC AG supports this campaign and checks the lanes of cyclists in the roundabout with artificial intelligence AI together with the city of Lucerne. During our quality check, Silvan Sturzenegger and Alexander Homar Rossello did the test: Alex drives on the right edge and Silvan follows him #in the middle to be on the safe side and shows himself in the roundabout. A great project for more security and quality of life in the city!

After winning the competition for the redesign of the Turtmann through road, the preliminary project is on the right track. The project aims to reduce the separating effect of the road and increase safety and comfort for non-motorised traffic. A speed camera against noise sinners

Traffic noise reduces the quality of life in cities and suburbs. With the AI noise sensor from our partner SecuraXis, we want to sensitize vehicle drivers to the topic. The sensor is linked to an LED display to give drivers immediate feedback on the noise being made. Is the proportion of electric vehicles higher in the city than in the country? With the further development of our swissANPR traffic survey, we can investigate this question. The measurement allows insights into destination, source and through traffic, the proportion of electric vehicles and the #CO2 emissions caused. These findings are used for sensible and sustainable traffic planning and the planning of charging stations for electromobility. swissANPR does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the vehicle owners and complies 100% with data protection.

The Canton of Friborg/Etat de Friborg - State of Friborg is now using the automatic number plate collection technology #swissANPR from SWISSTRAFFIC AG. At 25 locations throughout the canton, all trucks and in particular the transport of dangerous goods were automatically surveyed with swissANPR during a week from Monday to Saturday. During the current home office obligation, it will be quiet on the streets. Ambient noise is one of the greatest environmental health risks. It is estimated that long-term exposure to environmental noise causes 12,000 premature deaths and contributes to 48,000 new cases of heart disease each year in Europe. Despite the efforts, noise pollution hardly changed between 2012-2017. The longer-term prospects are also not encouraging and it is likely that noise will also increase outside urban areas by 2030 (see https://lnkd.in/drcUXwV).

How high is the noise pollution in Swiss cities and communities? Together with our partner SecuraXis, we examine the noise pollution in detail. The decibel specification alone is not sufficient for this. We use the intelligent acoustic sensor with integrated AI to identify vehicle classes and distinguish between different noise sources. SWISSTRAFFIC AG uses this #data for precise impact analyses. It is now possible to study how commuter traffic affects ambient noise. By reducing noise pollution, we want to improve the quality of life in cities and communities.
